BANGKOK: -- A spokesperson for Bangkok Governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra defended his boss today, saying a photo of the governor frolicking with some lovely ladies while Bangkok was flooding is unfair and false. And she’s right.

The image, which shows the two-term governor frolicking with four hot girls in a European-style pub, was said to have been taken Monday, while Bangkok was crippled from a powerful storm that lashed the city for five to six hours Sunday night to Monday morning.

He was traveling on business in the Netherlands at the time and returned to Bangkok yesterday.

Sukhumbhand, who’s been in hot water over the floodwaters, was already being criticized for the city’s response and past assurances when the photo surfaced, especially after he assured the public he was coordinating the response with his staff over Skype.

once again we see why the thai press needs to be reigned in, the fact they have blatantly lied and used an old pic that was actually taken in Bangkok a year ago should be enough to have the paper concerned shut down with massive fines. They are supposed to report the truth not made up bullsh*t, this is definitely political as well as trying to cause conflicts and needs to be followed up with some very harsh punishment.

Unfortunately the thai press is not capable of doing any sort of investigative journalism and resorts to this sort of crap to sell their papers, truth would be something that would really go down well here but it will never happen.

What news media published this photo as happening in June 2015? Let's not confuse SOCIAL media with NEWS Media.

I agree that the Thai press is not capable of doing investigative reporting. The Junta suppresses such actions as it must control the result.

Sorry but where did it say in the article that the photo was published in a Thai newspaper. It only said that the photo surfaced. Just like newspaper should check their sources, readers should read articles in an objective way - well they should atleast read them.

look under the photo(Photo: Khaosod), in case you have never seen that name before they report the news but usually in favour of the ptp/reds/thaksin. There is nothing in the article that states otherwise so it was purely based on the report itself as written above.

It is quite obvious that you and the others who have agreed with your fascist themed post have no respect for basic human rights and will use any excuse you can find to stifle contrary opinions. Your comment is incredibly stupid because it is based upon an event that never occurred. The Thai press did not lie. On the contrary, the Thai media either did not pay attention to the claim disseminated through social media, or when it did, pointed out that the photo was bogus. The only one not telling the truth is you. The only one making up bull sh*t is you. Did Nation Media? did Thai PBS? Did Channel 7? Did AFP? Did Reuters? Did the BBC? Did CNN? Did Al Jazeera? No, No, No, No and more Nos. Only khaosod mentioned the allegation and it looks like you didn't read the article, did you? What does thee article say? Check out the last paragraph.

Are you even aware that multiple media outlets are controlled by the military? Are you now criticizing the Military administration and accusing them of lying? I denounce you and demand that you surrender to the police for a breach of the civil order law that forbids fomenting unrest through the criticism of the government.

Are you happy that you made a claim that just isn't true? Why did you do that. Even more curious is why people agreed with you? Do they even know what is going on, or did they just see this as an opportunity to espouse their extremist right wing ideology?

Let's rewrite to something more appropriate (I will leave some of the extremely poor syntax and grammar as is, because it adds to the shock value and demonstrates the ignorance) ;

once again we see why some social media needs to be reigned in, the fact some people blatantly lie. This should be enough to have these people shut down with massive fines. They are supposed to behave in a truthful and honest manner and not make up bullsh*t, this is definitely political as well as trying to cause conflicts and needs to be followed up with some very harsh punishment.

Unfortunately many foreigners ares not capable of behaving in an honest manner because they are ignorant and filled with prejudice, and resort to this sort of crap to gain attention, truth would be something that would really go down well here but it will never happen.
