Hello everyone,

In my home country in Europe I was able to obtain a tourist visa with 2 entries (2 x 60 days). Therefore I was able to stay in Thailand for 5 months (one 30 day extension).

Now I want to leave Thailand for one week only to get a new Tourist Visa with 3 entries and enter Thailand again within this year. This way I will be staying almost one year in Thailand with 2 Tourist Visas in a row.

Has anyone tried this method, getting the multiple entry tourist visas in a row? Please share this experience if it worked smoothly?

The reason why I am not going to a neighbour country is because I want 3 entries to avoid too many tourist visa stickers in my passport. I would be flying to Europe or Bali to get those multiple entry visas and it would be bad if my application is rejected.

There is no obvious reason why you should be refused but be aware that not all Embassy/Consulates will provide triple entry tourist visas.

If you seek a visa from Bali I believe they will wish to see pre booked tickets out of Thailand associated with each entry.

The variability of 'local' regulations with this is legend! Similar rules apply in Germany, yet I can get a 3x entry tourist visa in the UK without an issue. Nothing I have seen in regs from the Imm Office really explains these variations, so it does seem to be a local policy issue - either handed down because of perceived abuse, or determined locally by over-enthusiastic officialdom. As mentioned, in principle, there is no restriction but it is a case of doing some homework on the webpages of the respective embassies and consulates. Those which are closer to Thailand increasingly seem to have some of the stricter interpretations, possibly to prevent people doing exactly what it is you wish to. The onward or return flight issue is becoming an ever bigger issue - in spite of the official position, that if you have a visa, you don't need forward planned details (as I understand it).
