You will not be allowed entry to the country because your passport does not have the required 6 months validity. You also would not even be allowed to board your flight.

In order to get a visa from an embassy or consulate you need at least 6 months remaining on your passport.

-- Where are you now? What country?

-- Your air ticket is from Bangkok back to Syria? What airline? How are you planning to get to Bangkok?

-- Is it possible to change your flight to where you are now?

-- Do you have your ticket with you? Airline? Which airline?

-- I am wondering if you could fly to Bangkok then stay IN TRANSIT until your ongoing flight to Syria. Ask the airline.

Am flying from saudi arabia 1stop at abudabi emarits to bangkok

Flight date 7 july

Return back 29 july

Passport expired on 20 augest 2015

I can renew it but it will be done on 7 of july same date of tbe flight so no time for me to get my visa

I cant change the flight date and am flying with Etihad air lines

Unless you can get your passport sooner I see nothing you can do other than change your travel plans.

Before you start your trip after getting the new passport you will have to get a tourist visa.

You are not eligible for a visa or arrival or a visa exempt entry.

Agreed ubonjoe... A friend of mine was in a similar position and was refused at check-in

If there is only two months on your passport, were you issued a visa to enter Thailand? If you've been to Thailand four times before, presumably you've obtained Thai visas before. Have you applied for a new visa for this trip?

With only two months left on the passport and (possibly) no valid Thai visa, I doubt they would even let you board the plane.

Unless you get a new passport you MUST change your flight plans.

The question is not if you can change your plans, it's if you can do so without cost.

A abusive and unhelpful post has been removed.

Please do not post unless you have new helpful info that has is not a repeat of what has been posted already. Repeating the same thing over and over again makes it confusing for the person seeking help.

Change your travel plans now before the prices go up. Anything else would be a world of stress. If money can fix something to relieve your mind and solve a problem then bite the bullet at pay. Live and learn.

Try applying for an emergency travel document. Most embassies offer them. But you'll need to do it pre-journey.

Also, the UK, for one, will extend a passport's validlty.

Never heard that the UK will extend a passports validity, where did you get that from? Also most embassies do not issue Emergency Travel documents for normal travel, if it is necessary to travel they might consider it, in this case the OP is going for a holiday.

But this does not help the OP.

OP - as others have told you:

1. Get a new passport

2. Change your flight dates

3. Get a visa in your home country.

4. Travel stress free

Syria passport still requires at least 6 month validity.

Emergency passport and visa for entry would seem the only option to meet your date of travel - but suspect that would not be issued in home country for tourist travel.

OP, Go directly to the embassy and discuss the options ASAP

Bear in mind it could be Ramadan in effect from as early as Wednesday, and I would be hopeful of getting any official paperwork quickly processed in Saudi during this time.

You could try for emergency travel document as another post mentioned, and check the possibility of moving your flights.

Many countries require at least 6 months validity of passport before you can board or even enter the country. If you can not return your ticket then just take a chance.

May be you can go to Thai Embassy and explain your situation and request them to give you no objection to enter Thailand for as long as your passport is valid. It is just a possible solution.

Couldn't you pay a little "fee" to get your passport a little bit earlier? The airline won't let you board the plane and Thailand wouldn't let you come in.

Don't you know somebody who knows somebody? Always helpful, in all countries...Good luck.

You are suggesting that the OP offer an illegal bribe to try and get his new passport back quickly ? Sound advice - NOT !

Please don't say you were suggesting an express service, because if that were the case you would not have put the word "fee" in quotation marks.

A far as know there is no way a Thai embassy would be able to do that.

They would also have to waive the rule requiring 6 months passport validity to issue a visa.

Simply talk to the airline see if they will change your flight dates free of charge, if not sorry you should be more aware of travel and passport laws.
