Car Parking at Nong Khai Friendship Bridge

Featured Replies

Usually ride my motorbike from KK but fancy driving in AC comfort tomorrow for my visa run. Where is the parking for private cars at Nong Khai Bridge and how far to the bridge from the parking?

Thanks

There is secure parking at the bus the station where the shuttle buses that cross the bridge operate from. It is on the right side at the large intersection just before the bridge. I have parked there before when I went for an overnight stay or to get a visa.

If just doing a border hop there is parking closer to the bridge but it has been to long ago to tell you where.

On the other side of 7-11 just before opposite. on the left hand side of the highway. 300 Baht a night for cars less for motorbikes and a 3 minute walk to the bridge but they have a free tuk tuk service.

If you go thru Nong Khai and turn right at the circle for the bridge, sign probably says Vientiane it is right turn there on the left hand side, so when you make the right get in the left lane immediately, if you miss it there is a turn around before immigration that will bring you back past the 7-11 and to the circle and turn around again.

Driving north, shortly before you get to the border post its on the left side.

Really a short walk to the border post (bus over the bridge).

I just came back yesterday from a week up in NE Laos, Long Tieng and the PDJ. Left the wife's van at the secure parking area there at the van station, baht 100 per night. Free, I think, if you're just crossing over the bridge and returning. Been leaving the car there for one to many times a year for the last 20 years, SAFE.

You can catch a van or bus from the ticket window across the bridge, do the Lao Immigration stuff, and return.

Thanks for the quick and informative answers guys. It's just a short hop 90 day marriage visa run so the spot KhunBENQ states is perfect. Never noticed it before but always on a bike so want looking for it.

Thanks again

Thanks very much for this information, Mac. Have you made the trip recently and has anything changed?

Ombra

Is last week recently enough? Parked there 1-5 May, baht 100 a night, no problems.
