THAI Airways exempts ticket changing fees for flights to and from South Korea

BANGKOK, 18 June 2015 (NNT) – THAI Airways will be providing free ticket changing services for flights flying from Thailand and South Korea in wake of the MERS epidemic, starting today until 31 July 2015.

THAI Airways International Vice President Wiwat Piyawiroj has revealed that THAI Airways will now waive any fees for tickets to and from Thailand to Seoul and Busan in South Korea, including all domestic flight legs that have been issued for transit via Bangkok to connect to or from flights to South Korea.

This measure has been enacted from in wake of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) spread in South Korea, to help facilitate and reduce the effect to passengers who have booked their travels within this period.

The eligible tickets must be issued before 8 June 2015 through THAI Airways ticket office, travel agencies in Thailand, or on the www.thaiairways.com website. Changes can be made free of charge from now until 31 July 2015.

Changes to the itinerary will be permitted without penalty for a single time, allowing an extension to the same route or a change to other Asian destinations (excluding Sapporo, Japan). The new travel dates must not be extended to later than 31 July 2015. Changes must be made under the terms and conditions of the airline and are subjected to different airfares, fees, and taxes. Passengers will be fully responsible to pay for any excess fares.

Passengers are advised to check for more details prior to making changes to their itinerary, including the information on taxes and the difference of airfares on www.thaiairways.com or they can call THAI Contact Center 02-356-1111.
