Franky Bear
We are busy at work and need an answer fairly quick Mate is a UK national. He is in on a VOA. He's got a job in Thailand. He only has a week left on his tourist visa. How Many days will be get if he does the quick trip to Cambodia on a bus?
nzexpat
British Nationals do not qualify for a VOA He most likely has a visa exempt entry which can be extended at an immigration office for 30 days at a cost of 1900 Bht. Your friend cannot work legally without an appropriate Visa and a work permit.
Franky Bear
I know he can't work. This is the start of the process of getting the WP.
Lite Beer
If he leaves the country and returns he will get 30 days. So extending at Immigration by 30 days might be a better option.
ubonjoe
As said there is not need for a border run. A UK national gets a 30 day visa exempt entry at a border crossing becasue it is a G7 country.

Franky Bear
Can the company apply for a WP with this stamp? (It's a multi national national in oil and gas)
Soutpeel
Can the company apply for a WP with this stamp? (It's a multi national national in oil and gas) they can apply Franky, but it will not be issued until he is on a "B visa" in the O&G game, he doesn't need to second guess who ever it is he is working for, just do what they tell him to do....they are very up to speed on the most expedient and efficient way of getting this done, his is not the first or the last to go though this process If he is working directly for an MNC, the biggest headache may be getting his DMF letter, this can take a while to be approved as they only meet once a month and you can only apply for the WP once you have the DMF approval/letter Edited June 19, 2015 by Soutpeel
ubonjoe
He should be able to apply for the work permit with a visa exempt entry. There though may be a odd work permit office that would not accept it.

Best you advise the company to try the Labour office if they want a WP !
