I haven't done a border run in ages. Usually here on a visa of some kind. What's the latest on border runs? How many days does an American get? I like to use the border in Kanchanaburi if that makes a difference.

If you are on a 30 day visa exempt entry now you can get a 30 day extension at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht.

THX. Can I extend an ED visa that's set to expire?

You need supporting paperwork from the school that has to present attendance record, plus you can be subject to an interview and receive only e.g. 30 days instead 90.

I mean, can I get a general 30 day extension and leave after that? My school oddly won't support me to extend my visa even though I have 4 days of classes left after it expires.

There is no general 30 day extension of an ED-visa.

The most you can get without paperwork from the school is an extra 7 days to elave the country.

The 30 day extension is only possible for a visa exempt or a tourist visa entry.

There is none for a non immigrant visa entry or an extension of it.

Ubonjoe or Mario, what is the latest on the supporting documents for the 30-day visa exemption extension? My passport is stamped "till July 16". Do I need to show a flight ticket out dated by July 16? or any date after that will do, within 30 days (ie. July 26)?

Also, what about the 10000 baht cash? I did tourist visa extensions before and was never asked for his.

Thanks! and sorry if I'm hijacking this thread.

All you need to apply for the 30 day extension is a completed TM7 form, copy of passport photo page, entry/permit to stay stamp and TM6 departure card.

No tickets or money to show needed.

Thanks Ubonjoe!

So the requirements that were posted back in August last year were the "official" ones, but not the ones "practiced"?

When the official rules came out there was no requirement in the police order for the tickets and etc. What was in the news was not official.
