geovalin
Pech Sotheary Two foreigners were let off with a warning yesterday after flying a camera-equipped drone near Prime Minister Hun Sen’s house in central Phnom Penh. American Todd Brown, 39, and French national Gilles Sainsily, 35, were arrested by officers in front of Wat Lanka at about 10am, questioned and released just after 5pm, said Phnom Penh municipal deputy police chief Sim Vuthy. Vuthy said the pair wasn’t charged, but were warned to get prior approval before operating unmanned aerial vehicles in the city. read more: http://www.phnompenhpost.com/national/flight-control-foreigners-told-not-drone
humqdpf
Given the tendency of things electronic to go wrong or be hacked, it is always possible for those desk-jockey pilots in Arizona or wherever they bask to get the coordinates wrong and wipe out the PM's house. realenglish1
I commend the Cambodian authorities for handling this case expeditiously. Cambodia just went up a notch in my belt. Here in Thailand you would have been locked up and the key thrown away for violation of order

Fullstop
I suspect they didn't fly it "over" the PM's house at all. That's just a journalistic dramatic headline. The story says "near" ... and if we really found out the facts ...it was probably just in the same "neigbourhood" ... in a local park.

Sheryl
The house in question is right opposite Independence Monument and a small park...and the PM virtually never actually stays in it. Quite likely they were unaware of it and just aiming for the Monument or making use of the park.
