SONGKHLA — A top police commander said it will take at least five years for the court to examine the testimony of more than 200 witnesses in a massive legal case against alleged human traffickers in southern Thailand.

Reports: 2 dead after man sets self on fire on Japan train

ODAWARA, Japan (AP) — A man riding one of Japan's high-speed bullet trains set himself on fire Tuesday, killing himself and another passenger as the coach filled with smoke, Japanese officials and media reports said.

Petrol prices to go down 40 satang
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- PTT Plc and Bangchak Plc announced Tuesday that their pump prices of diesel and petrol products, except gasohol E85, will be cut by 40 satang per litre starting at 5 am Wednesday.

The E85 price cut is 20 satang. Crude oil prices hit 3-week lows on Monday as Greek crisis worsened while the nuclear deal between Iran and six world powers drag on.

Dubai crude oil on Monday fell to US$59.87 per barrel.

AOT: airport CTX scanners designed to detect bombs

16 more people in contact with MERS patient to be released Wednesday

BANGKOK: -- Sixteen more people who had close contact with the only confirmed MERS patient in Thailand will be freed from being monitored in state-run medical facilities Wednesday after they have completed the 14-day monitoring period, Doctor Jariya Saengsajja, director of the Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute said Tuesday.

The first group of 20 people were freed from the monitoring on Monday.

SCB denies discrimination in university recruitment
