webfact Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Police hunt for close aide of murdered Surat Thani prosecutorSuwannee BundisakThe NationBANGKOK: -- POLICE investigators are looking for a close aide of provincial public prosecutor Phayong Dok-maihom, who was found dead in his official residence in Surat Thani's Muang district on Sunday night. The close aide, named Niwat Jongsuk, 37, allegedly took the victim's valuables before going missing.Phayong's body was found in the bedroom at around 8.30pm on Sunday. He had suffered blunt-force trauma to the head and his throat was slit. There were signs of a struggle. A blood-stained wooden stick was found near the body and gold ornaments worth Bt220,000 and a gun were missing. The medical examiner said Phayong, 54, died sometime between noon and 2pm on Sunday.Maj-General Decha Budnam-peth, chief of Provincial Police Region 8, said initial investigation found that Phayong had gone out with Niwat and later returned home, after which Niwat became unreachable. Niwat allegedly withdrew cash using Phayong's ATM card at 1pm on Sunday, police said.Decha said deputy police chief Pol General Ake Angsananont and his team would visit the province to follow up on the case later yesterday.Police will ascertain if Niwat's DNA matches those collected at the scene. Decha called a meeting yesterday with 20 police officers involved in the case, and they came up with three possible motives: a robbery that turned into murder; work-related conflict; or a crime of passion.Phayong had just moved from Phang Nga province to serve in Surat Thani in April.Phayong's wife, Thewee, told police her husband didn't have any conflicts with anyone and he lived alone in the house. She described Niwat, who helped take care of the house, as a close friend of Phayong and they often hung out together.Usually, Phayong would visit Thewee at her rubber plantation in Nakhon Si Thammarat during the weekends. She said she was surprised that Niwat had gone missing. Phayong's funeral will take place at Wat Pen Mit in Nakhon Si Thammarat's Chawang district.Source: http://www.nationmultimedia.com/national/Police-hunt-for-close-aide-of-murdered-Surat-Thani-30263366.html-- The Nation 2015-06-30
HeijoshinCool Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 … and gold ornaments worth Bt220,000 and a gun were missing. What, the killer left an IOU? … and they came up with three possible motives After watching three back-to-back episodes of Columbo, and a season 3 Starsky and Hutch.

As usual the BIB just have to say something so instead a more prudent statement to the effect that the investigation is ongoing and it's too early to speculate they give out their usual multiple choice motives although they did leave out it might be political.

Tomorrow, when they can't find Niwat, or find him dead, they'll be blaming a couple of baby-faced Burmese.

Yes -- They seen having a chicken BBQ and singing songs with their guitar next door earlier that morning. And of course, it can't possibly be a Thai that done this, so Niwat will get off scot-free, and the alternative baby-faced Burmese are gay, and got jealous - so the passion motive makes sense...wonder if they took his sunglasses and Iphone as well? Well you would , wouldn't you, after slitting someone's throat!!
bamnutsak Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Suspect he's in hiding trying to avoid a similar fate, or already in a shallow grave.
HeijoshinCool Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 All kidding aside, the aide is a dupe; the story is fabricated. I don't buy it. They're going to present DNA "proof," as early as tomorrow, that Niwat is guilty.
SOTIRIOS Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 ....part of 'the justice system'.... ....the justice system at work.... ...strange..... ...sad..... ...shocking..... ....RIP to the victim and condolences to his family... ...is it a case of 'too good for his own good'..... ...who knows.....will we ever know..........really.....
FangFerang Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 The man does not live with his wife. He visits her on weekends. And just how did they ascertain that a gun and gold jewelry worth B200,0000 were missing? Then the accused used the deceased's ATM card the next day, meaning he had the PIN number... I feel like I just watched a statement from an honest politician or had a taxi driver return money I dropped -- I am very disoriented.
Jimlove Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Another cover-up mastered by the infamous RTP .... Let in the Clowns

lvr181 Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 My condolences to his family and friends. Will we ever know the truth? I some how doubt it, unfortunately.
steelepulse Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 In the earlier story Niwat was his "nephew" not his "close aide". Somebody get spuned here? Condolences to the family.
