Pattaya newspapers have recently featured articles speculating that the military government is really serious about introducing 12 month long tourist visas by the end of 2015.

But I haven’t seen any mention of this on this website.

Is it just a wild rumour by Pattaya newspapers ?

Seems like "Sunbelt Asia" spread the rumour.

This keeps piping up since they said it would be in place by Chinese new years and then again in a comment about it from the tourism minister.

If it were to go through Joe, who would approve it to get it into the law/regulations for immigration?

It could be done by a ministerial regulation if the permitted stay is less than 90 days at a time. The ministerial regulation would have to be approved by the cabinet.
