New Rules Only 15 Day Extension On 60 Day Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

I am filling out my app. for my Tourist Visa to come to Thailand in October. I was planning to stay nearly 3 months i.e. get my 60 day entry and then go to the Immigration Office in Phuket Town and get a 30 days extension.

The paperwork I printed from the Thai Consulate at Hull says that for Tourist Visas says ..quote..."you may be able to Visit a Thai Immigration office and get your visa extended at the immigration officer's discretion. The maximum likely extension on each 60-day visit is 15 days".

I wonder if they are actually still issuing 30 days extensions as always or whether it has changed and will be strictly 15 days max.

Anyone know any more?

I've just read the same as you - looks like they are covering themselves by saying 'maybe' 15 days extension.

Why don't you get a double entry?

I have got a double entry, however, I want to do a trip of nearly 3 months before Xmas, then fly home to the Uk for 2 weeks and then back to thialand for another 3 months ,so I want to use my second visa for that trip.

Anyone else heard any more in this yet?
