July 6, 201511 yr Well the question is in the title I suppose. I've used the search function / trawled the first few pages of this sub-forum... I've worked here continuously, and legally before you say it, for the last 5 years, obtaining a double-entry TR visa from Laos / Cambodia (those were the days) twice when I changed schools. I didn't need the second entry on both occasions. Rather stupidly, I thought I'd save myself a 1000B by only getting a single-entry this last May & now find myself without employment & running out of time. I recently extended & have 30 days left, so imagine my joy when I was interviewed for an IEP position only to be told that they follow the international calendar... Anyway, I'm sure you're not interested in all that...what I want to know is can I get a double-entry TR visa if I return to Laos, having previously obtained a single-entry one; back-to-back so to speak? The school I interviewed at stated 'At this school, you need 30 days remaining on your TR visa to convert it to a 'B'. So given the month long hiatus & '30 day question' (I did ask) I want to sure things up with a double-entry. BTW I am, both technically & actually, a tourist. Also, I teach grade 12 maths & physics so am not, nor ever will be, an English teacher so keep your snotty remarks to yourself.
July 6, 201511 yr Yes, you can obtain the tourist visa, single or double entry in Laos. There is really no limit as long you can presence a neat application with proof of funds and residence if asked.
July 6, 201511 yr Since you only have have on single entry visa from Laos you will not have a problem getting a 2 entry visa.
July 6, 201511 yr Author Since you only have have on single entry visa from Laos you will not have a problem getting a 2 entry visa. Thanks Joe. What I forgot to ask is do I need to 'break the chain' via an 'in-out', single-entry from another consulate etc. Thanks for putting my mind at rest. Now I can rest easy in the knowledge that my miscalculation wasn't in vain...to a point.
July 6, 201511 yr They don't count previous visas from another embassy or consulate. Plus as far as any place goes you do not have back to back tourist visas other than the one you have now, Your years of working broke that chain long ago.
July 7, 201511 yr At laos savannakhet you can get 3 or more without much trouble so what you planning absolute no problem. good luck with visa trip & new job ...
