Hi All,

So I have just booked a flight with air asia for me, my wife and my 6 month old son.

I noticed there was an 'infant' selector but I choose just to book for me and my wife on the understanding my son would just be on my lap and does not need a seat, now I am a bit worried thinking maybe they will not allow that and I should have booked the infant seat.... with nokair, you don't book infant seats your baby can fly for free on your lap, I assumed that was the same with air asia... I thought the infant seat was only if you wanted your baby to have his own seat, considering my son cannot even sit up right yet I certinally do not... am I right in thinking I can just plop him on my lap and thats free?

Cheers

Sorry but it's not free for an infant, that's why they give the child under 2 option when booking. With AirAsia you do still have to buy an infant ticket even though they are sharing your seat. Did it with our little one on our last two trips.

Nok air you don't have to book a ticket for lap infants, just show passport at check-in. Again used Nok for a couple of flights on last trip with our boy

ah ok I see, so I will just have to make another booking with an infant only?

Or maybe I am just best calling air asia tomorrow and asking them what to do... cheers for the info mate probably saved me a ball ache on the day

I don't think you'll be able to book just an infant ticket alone because the infant has to be allocated to the lead adult passenger, from what I can remember.

You can add infant in your airasia account yourself. For entry website use email same when you bought ticket. Then "do modify my booking, add infant". Number of infant limited per flight.

Hello, thanks for that... I finally found the option, its a little tucked away in the top menu when your logged in looking at that booking, however when i click add an infant I just get a white page with the following URL https://booking2.airasia.com/AddInfant.aspx

I have tried it on two different browsers and on my phone and it does the same, so I guess I will need to call up.

Cheers
