Just wondering if I will be visited by immigration after applying for extension of stay based on marriage. I intend to apply in Nakhon Sawan. The issue being by wife is working in the UK and is back for a month in August. I currently have non O multiple from laos but want extension.

I can find a time in August to apply and can go with my wife (married 7 years, had extension in the past) + daughter to immigration and apply and use my wifes address there as my home, all will be OK if not visited because she will have already left back to the UK.

Can anyone advise on this, if we say to immigration she has to go to UK soon after applying will they still want to visit?

Also what would happen if I still had more than 30 days of stay left on current stay, could I still apply, or could my wife go in to immigration to see them and then I apply by myself after?

Thanks

Not sure how they do it there for the home visit. They may just want a witness or 2 to confirm you are living toghether as husband and wife.

Some offices will allow you to apply for the extension up to 45 days early.

Your wife would have to be with you when you apply for the extension.

I suggest you check with immigration to see what their requirements are.

You can only a apply for the extension at Nakhon Sawan.

You would have be living in Bangkok with proof of residence such as a rental agreement.

Not everyone gets a visit and I think the main focus is on first time extensions or when applying to a new office. From my experience they warned me of the visit when I applied and turned up the next day. I think they need to do the visit before passing the paperwork up the line so it should happen soon after the application date.

my story....first time i applied for extension...my wife had to be with me an another witness from our local village....the first question the officer asked was....did i know the woman whom was my wife....did i really live with her....i answered yes to both questions...he replied i dont believe you.....my local office is in Sakon the paper work is sent to Korat...they give you a 30 day stamp saying you are under investigation...during this period they visited my house and took photos themselves of me and my wife and the and then we had to get a friend to take a photo of the 2 of us and the immigration officer.........

These people have a lot of time on their hands so you will probably get a home visit - 3 (three) Guys visited us after first extension and after that Circus they performed here I´m sure they cant have that much to do in the office ...

Last month I finalised the Married Visa paperwork and was advised that 2 Immigration officials would visit where we live and on the visit day we would have to have the village head (with his ID) at our home. I was advised, by the immigration officer, that the reason for the home visits now were caused by many (200+) foreigners who had sham marriages to Thai women, some of these women had never met the let alone married them. The Bueng Kan immigration officials were very professional; pleasant; helpful and as I had nothing to hide and my relationship was above board my application was approved within the 30 days.
