BANGKOK: -- Cambodian Foreign Minister and Deputy PM Hor Namhong checks out a stall at a market alongside Klong Padung Krungkasem Canal near Government House yesterday after meeting Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

The Cambodian minister is on a three-day visit to strengthen bilateral ties and will attend a ceremony at which 16 Cambodian artefacts will be handed over by Thailand today.

These artefacts are among the 43 that were confiscated from smugglers by Thai authorities in 1999. Thailand returned seven of these to Cambodia in 2009. During his visit, the two countries are also set to announce the upgrading of a border checkpoint between Cambodia's Preah Vihear province and Thailand's Ubon Ratchathani province to an international checkpoint. The Cambodian minister flies back tomorrow.
