What set me of was the Bar-girl comment and the Thai comment, which in my opinion ,should have little to do with anything other than in the context of:

Plenty of good bar girls, forced in the lifestyle by necessary, Use commonsense to determine if she is a good one,

And the Thai comment with in the cultural context , Don't meet the parents unless you are serious about this girl. which I think is covered under the Relax clause

Ill do that and thanks for your advice. Meanwhile, prostitution is illegal in Thailand. How can an illegal activity be regulated? Either it's illegal, or it is not. It can't possibly be both. However, I'll do some research and try to find some up to date information. In any case, taking out a girl that is above the legal age of consent for a meal, meeting or in fact anything, cannot possibly attract the attention of the police or other authorities. Soliciting clients for prostitution purposes ... yes, that would get some attention, perhaps their is a minimum age for that ???? Unlikely though ... it's illegal. That equates then, to the girl having to proposition this guy in front of her parents and preferably with a cop present, for the quoted scam to work. I thought that prostitution was illegal in Thailand, I do know that the age of consent is 18 (or I think 15 with the parents consent). 18 is quite high, so no problems with this situation. There is no "legal" age for a prostitute, prostitution is illegal whatever the age.

Why not read the whole thread first before commenting? If you do, you'll find some links to the legislation that regulates prostitution in Thailand and will be able to understand why simply saying it is "illegal" is wrong.

Ill do that and thanks for your advice. Meanwhile, prostitution is illegal in Thailand. How can an illegal activity be regulated? Either it's illegal, or it is not. It can't possibly be both. However, I'll do some research and try to find some up to date information. In any case, taking out a girl that is above the legal age of consent for a meal, meeting or in fact anything, cannot possibly attract the attention of the police or other authorities. Soliciting clients for prostitution purposes ... yes, that would get some attention, perhaps their is a minimum age for that ???? Unlikely though ... it's illegal. That equates then, to the girl having to proposition this guy in front of her parents and preferably with a cop present, for the quoted scam to work. Not forgetting of course that the guy would have to accept the afore mentioned proposition. Nahh, it's not gana work.

Paying for sex is not "illegal" in Thailand, as long as the prostitute is 18 or over. All the links you need were posted earlier on this thread.

She's playing the game she knows a lot about, sometimes it's the long game, get a small regular monthly payment from many different 'bf'.

It all adds up & her family will encourage it especially when that new pickup and house extension arrives, gold is bought & other villagers see them as in the money.

There's the trap young man, pay her for the boom and boom her as well as you can but don't start the I'll take care scenario

There was a story on either here or stickman about a guy whose thai girlfriend was having or had a baby, I think his, only to find out she had a Norwegian long term lover who she couldn't leave as he was giving her more money. She wanted him to allow her to pretend the baby was the other man's.

Just be careful as there are so many traps and scenario's to fall into

I don't see a trap although their could be one later on. If you're 60 or more then watch out but I suspect you're much younger. So go to Sisaket with her and enjoy yourself.

bar girls are clever,just like a fisherman catching a fish the bait is added(short time),no mention of money after,she may even buy you little inexpensive things to dull your senses.Beware the "hit" will come later.

You can do better,university girls,girls working in shops,girls that have real jobs still want to be taken care of with someone that has some money to support them.Going to sisaket is a bad idea in my opinion.Just keep shagging and smiling,by all means pay your dues and move on to the next one.You will soon understand everything because it will all be repeated to you over and over again like a broken record.

Not great advice at 22. May be better to take a shot at the real thing when your young and don't have that much cash.

Why would a guy show a girl he has only just met, prostitute or not, his bank books and details of income? Must be desperate.

6 years ago, before it closed down, I became a regular customer at a massage parlour in the town. Each time I would get the same girl. She spoke very good bar girl Yinglish and became very chatty with me. Most of it was a bit irritating, the usual hard luck stories, alcoholic husband who left her destitute, kid in the care of a temple, grandfather needs an eye operation, mother recovering from motorbike accident, uncle dying of cancer, sick buffalo and the usual BS and crap.

After a few weeks, out of the blue she asked me if I loved her? I was taken back and was quite honest and said no. She went on to explain that she already has a 62 year old Dutch husband, but after talking to her more about it, I established that the Dutch guy was already married and paying her 20000 baht a month as a minor wife, meaning, she is available each time the Dutch guy wanted to have boom boom. Then she discretely hinted, would I be interested in the same deal. I made it absolutely clear that I`m not interested in that sort of arrangement, and I did not show her my personal bank statements to prove I don`t have the money. She actually said to me; she knows I have a lot of money and I replied; yes I do and my aim is to keep it.

After that, surprise, surprise, the girl lost her enthusiasm towards me and the following time I visited the massage parlour she was plying her tactics onto some other mug. A few weeks later the parlour shut down. Don`t know what happened to the girl and didn`t care.

It`s all about money and those who are gullible enough to fall for the fake chames and lovey dovey exploits of these women, deserve all what they get coming to them. Guys always get the women they deserve.
