My problem with Sexpats.

You don't think it might have something to do with the fact that having to travel halfway round the world to get laid is a little embarrassing?

I think most dont HAVE to travel so far to get laid but its a great thing to have so much choice in an open environment.

Its only an embarrassment in the stigma of some in the west, normally western women casting aspersions.

Its not an embarrassment when in Thailand.

Yes it is

The locals take the piss out of people like you like it's going out of fashion

Of course, most farangs are oblivious to it but you can bet the hookers aren't.

Why would I care about what locals think? I get what i want and the girls get what they want.

Is your life so boring that you have to worry about what others are doing for enjoyment?

You should do more to make yourself happy instead of worrying about what others do to be happy.

Hmm, let me think . . . umm because you expect them to treat you with respect

Personally, I don't give a toss what whore chasers do - to each, his own - but I do care when those same idiots turn around and bitch about how they're viewed or treated by ordinary Thais

When the locals see the typical fat, shaven-headed Western boor mauling a prostitute's breasts or nether regions in full view of the bar/club/street/BTS, is it any wonder they look at them as scum

Not just the locals. Most of the expats I know laugh at the whoremongers, too.

Which is again a good reason why I prefer to not know expats.

I have to agree here.....For myself, as a person (thinking/discerning - I hope)I have 3-4 people/expats that I can have a solid/life related relationship with and trust the judgement/opinions of.....

If I were a "Drinking" person just about everybody 'could' fall into that category.....

Just like finding a good woman here finding a good friend takes a time investment.....Just like in the US you are highly unlikely to find quality people in pubs or bars.....

In many cases it's easier to find more thoughtful people on the Thai side of life than on the farang side.....It's interesting even seeing the different result in saying hello to seemingly entrenched expats in common venues/surroundings - shopping, etc.......

The expats I know are decent, educated, likeable people who lead normal lives.

I guess the people you meet depends on where you hang out.

Just out of interest, where do you "hang out" with these decent, educated, likeable expats? The British Club?

No, not getting laid seems pretty common in the west, that's why there is a porn addiction epidemic.

But using hookers is considered perverted and therefore embarrassing and shameful.

People aint that comfortable with telling family, friends or strangers that they migrated to Thailand only to become a sexpat. That has to do with the kind of societies most western expats come frome.

I met a Thai woman who was a Chula graduate and Chartered Accountant. She then worked exclusively for her family's private foundation in Thailand. She asked what I did in Thailand. I said that I came initially to work for a Thai NGO Under Royal Patronage and that I now operated out of an NGO I set up based in USA.

She said 'That is very unusual.' I said 'Why -- do you think all western men come to Thailand to chase young Thai women and drink beer?'

She paused for a moment and said: Yes.

I would have said, " Yes, just like all the Thai guys.'

Bars, restaurants, each other's homes - the usual places people socialise.

Contrary to popular option around here, Bangkok isn't just one big red light district.

Are you likable?

You probably wouldn't think so - you don't appear to like anyone much.

Which expat bars? I quite like the Pickled Liver in Sukhumvit soi 7/1, but that soi isn't exactly squeaky clean.

Doctor doctor quick need some medication as I find myself agreeing with all of CH and SB posts for once

I've seen your posts on this site and frankly I think you're a radical liberal with delusional views.

What you don't understand is that an exchange is taken place. No one is forcing these girls to become "slaves" to these farangs.

They are simply exchanging their "love" and "nurturing" for the Farang's financial support, thinking that they can make both parties lives better, or sometimes, just their own.

Why would any man want to settle for an aging 50 year old droopy European woman when they could have a nice, tight-bodied 20 year old?

Would you rather have a 50 year old?

If you said yes, then I'm just going to assume you're a liar and call BS on everything you've said so far.

I would think any "droopy European woman" 50 or not, would not want anything to do with you anyway. With your attitude. Are you a Brad Pitt or a Channing Tatum? How are your droops? Or moobs?

I am fifty one, i do not droop nor drool nor anything else. You, probably suffer from delusion.

Then what would explain your total shallow minded - lack of depth; post s devoid of of anything above a marginal response without any meaningful dialog......but derogatory slights tossed out aplenty......

How is it you can be surrounded with your "educated/likeable" quality friends and yet have so little to offer ?

Troll......

No one place in particular - and not necessarily 'expat' bars, either.

I'm guessing social skills aren't really your strong suit.

By the way, 'troll' doesn't just mean someone you disagree with.

Now, do you have anything to contribute to the discussion other than throwing out insults or talking about yourself?

Thai bars? I'm genuinely interested in where you consider a normal place to "hang out".

And I've answered the question. I'm not going to list specific places where my friends and I might be found. Go stalk someone else!

I suggest you hang around questionable locals if they are in places to see the things you describe. You may want to get a better class of local friends.

By the way, calling the women whores says a hell of a lot about you.

I obviously couldnt live the life you do, would be far too boring for me to spend my time talking about how much better than other expats I am.

Im much more inclined to enjoy my life without worrying whether I am better than others.

Probably because you dont understand what the locals are saying about you, never mind carry on with the delusion, I can assure its pretty embarrasing for these Thai women when they hear what other Thais say about them.

I once asked a hooker, paa khun por pai tiaw chai mai, are you taking your father for a walk?

She laughed.

Another told me straight, he aint my boyfriend, he is a customer, said mug didnt have a clue.

People upcountry aint that comfortable with telling family friends or strangers that their offspring services sexpats.

Probably has more to do with the way Thai society frowns upon them, funny how all these women all work in banks according to the upcountry natives.

So true. Being a hooker means being at the absolute bottom of Thai societies' hierarchy. No parent would proudly proclaim that their daughter spreads her legs for a living, even if she was sending home 30k a month. At most, "she cashier in Pattaya bar, no bargirl." And most times, that's what the girls tell their parents.

My personal favourite, she work bar, but not go with man, LOL

Well if she admitted to you straight out she was a prostitute she can hardly be embarrassed about then.

Why do you think the guy didnt have a clue she was a prostitute?

Thai bars? I'm genuinely interested in where you consider a normal place to "hang out".

I will answer that, at the back of Seacon Square, mix with normal everyday Thai people, office girls, sales clerks, nurses, small business owners etc etc.

Contrary to popular belief, these girls will even buy you a drink as way of thanks for translating their FB messages etc.

Tawana Square Bank Kapi is another, 75 baht per large Leo, a night out can cost me less than 500 baht, give the girl a 25 baht tip and get a wai and a khop khun ka, in lower Suk it would get you a mouthful of abuse in Thai.

Please enlighten me; what, EXACTLY, does it say about me to describe women who sell their bodies by their profession?

If you describe them collectively as anything but what they do then it would appear that you're a hell of a lot more embarrassed about what you do in Thailand than you'd have us believe.

Describing them as "girls" for the folks back home spares you the shame, right??

Thanks. But they don't really sound like expat hang-outs, which is what I thought SoiBiker was on about. I don't really have any desire to go native!

Nothing wrong with calling prostitutes "prostitutes", but calling them "whores" is derogatory and insulting. Which I guess is what you intend! Rather like calling a police officer a "pig".

Please explain the difference between prostitue and whore.

I was under the impression the both sold themselves for money.

I love these farang saps who try to justify the lifestyle, by saying, its not the same as back home, LOL

Well if it aint the same, why are you paying, do they give it away for free or something? LOL

Thankfully this is Thailand, the PC brigade havent got here yet.
