Concerns about which visa to get in Laos

Featured Replies

Hi,

I intend to go Vientiane Laos next week to get a visa as my 2 entry tourist visa expires in about 12 days, 26 July. I understand that a 2 entry tourist visa, like the one I got in Australia, can be obtained at the Thai embassy in Vientiane.

I tried to check out the embassy website http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/vientiane/en/consular/consular_check/ to confirm but I couldn't get any information when using the search box - I'm not sure that it was working.

I find dealing with Thai visa issues worrying to say the least :) So I would appreciated any help that members might be able to offer. .

You can only obtain a single or double entry tourist visa. Cost is 1,000 and 2,000 Baht respectively. You can read plenty of more information on this forum.

The link you posted is an old one. They updated their website and ruined it. The English version is mostly in Thai. New link: http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/en/consular/visa.php

The visas expiration does not effect how long you can be in the country it is only the last day you can enter the country with it. What is important is you admitted until date you got on entry.

Have you obtained a 30 day extension at an immigration office of your 60 day entry your visa allowed you.

You can easily get a 2 entry tourist visa in Vientiane for a fee of 2000 baht.
