23-year-old man jumps to his death from 16th floor of Saladaeng hotel
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- A 23-year-old man jumped to his death from his room on the 16th floor of a hotel on Soi Saldaeng 1 off Silom Road Thursday morning, police said.

Police said the body of Saran Duangmanee, a resident of Tak's Mae Sot district, fell on the seventh floor of the Bandara Suites Silom Hotel.

Police was informed of the suicide at 9:30 am.

A maid told police that before the man jumped down he left the door to his room open and she saw him sitting on the room balcony crying.

She alerted the hotel's senior staffs who rushed to the room to try to convince the man to come back into the room. But the man jumped down in front of the staffs.

No TV theories needed this time, all "cut & dried". whistling.gif

no prescription medicine found in the room, no bottles of alcohol, no drugs found on the bed, no note to the gf. The paperwork will be done in two minutes. Case closed .....

Ok, that pretty much rules out any "assisted suicide", and makes it a strong case for straight suicide.

The question is: Why?

At 23, what could be so emotionally devastating to bring someone to that?

The theory is about foreigner suicides, not Thai suicides.

But they need to publish the room number, otherwise some poor Thai might find himself being haunted.

will that mean rooms on the seventh floor now get the discounted rate ......

Some pretty tasteless responses to the death of this young man.

Sometimes TV stoops to a new low ( if that is possible )

Not familiar with Thai media outlets and Thai webforums, are you?

30 million women in thailand, so one cannot be a reason to just end your life

Quite possible it wasn't a woman but another man, and the fact that he committed suicide reduces the odds substantially.

Oh well done, that R.I.P takes the edge of the utter crassness of the previous sentence.

Though that "nevertheless" is fairly banal in itself, almost dismissive in fact.

Perfectly familiar thank you - more posts than you on this site .

Is that some sort of excuse for being an unpleasant human being and having no empathy or emotional intelligence . Maybe these days, sitting behind a key board spouting drivel - thinking you are being amusing or clever is now socially acceptable.

Yes do post cutting, witty, amusing posts on a variety of topics- but not when it involves the death of someone so young.
