android car entertainment system

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was wondering if someone knows if i could buy an android car entertainment system in thailand? They are available from sites like alibaba and dx, usually china made. If you search there for android car system with your brand and model car, it gives a lot of choices. It would make a great choice for gps too. I am looking for a 2 din system, preferably with android 4.4.

what brand/model is your car? Have a look at the upcoming motor show or drop by one of the large audio installers in Bangkok.

ROCKET SOUND CO., LTD.

M-TECH AUDIO CO., LTD.

MIRAGE CAR AUDIO CO., LTD.

There are more, but these are the ones I pulled from the motor show list

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the links. I checked them out, but it is same as all the other ones i checked. For instance: pioneer has some systems which has some program (mirrorlink or something) which hooks up your android or iphone. it works only for certain models and only on certain apps. So that choice is very limited.

If I would have a system entirely running android, i could install any app i wanted. i would have music/gps and with a gsm module also internet related things. The systems advertised on dx and alibaba have all that (ebay also), including obdII / rearview camera etc. at mostly cheaper prices than here.

Ofcourse I would rather buy it in Thailand for the warranty etc. and I do not know what the import duty on such items are if bought online and send over here.

Seems to me, that these systems are not much advertised here, or even in the west. it's only pioneer, jvc, sony. etc. Guess i have to take a gamble for order online, or wait for the next show (december 2015)

Not sure what car model you have but I have heard good reviews for Dynavin systems for European cars. I plan on installing one for my e46 bmw, too busy to get it done. Dynavin has been around for many years and their systems seems to be pretty good as it started off as a German company, think it still is but they have offices in HK and systems are made in China. So firmware is updated once in a while and online forum support is pretty good, compare to other smaller brands which have no support and no updates.

There is also http://www.karako.co.th/ for Japanese makes. Not sure how the system is, but they are same distributor as Dynavin.

I believe the three companies above will have full android systems too that are not sony/pioneer etc, you will probably have to call and ask. I see them installing all types of systems at the motor show.

I agree prices here are a bit more, it would be cheaper to buy it in the US or online, but probably won't be worth the customs tax if you get taxed and no warranty.
