PATTAYA:--The Provincial Electricity Authority moved to prevent power outages and expensive transformer shorts by installing insulation and trimming trees along Thepprasit Road.

Technician Tinawat Promnoi had a team of electrical workers shut down power from 9 a.m. to 4 a.m. along Thepprasit between Dongtan Beach and Pratamnak Soi 2 on July 10 for the installation of fire-rated gaskets at electrical junctions.

The polyurethane firestops also protect wires against problems caused by birds, snakes and rats.

Additionally, the team pruned branches close to electric posts to prevent trees from taking down power lines during rainstorms.
