July 20, 201510 yr Hi, A couple of days ago I was in Vietnam, flying to Bangkok. At that time, I had a double entry tourist visa, with one entry remaining. I was assuming immigration would see this, and I'd then enter Thailand using my second entry. Though it appears I was given, without my realizing, another 30 day visa exempt entry. What are my available options? Can I leave in 30 days, re-enter the Kingdom, and utilize the second entry of my tourist visa? Thanks for your assistance. Matthew
July 20, 201510 yr "Can I leave in 30 days, re-enter the Kingdom, and utilize the second entry of my tourist visa?" I doubt it. The best option is to follow Lite Beer's advice and go to your local immigration office and they will correct the current stay to 60 days.
July 20, 201510 yr Before going to immigration to get the stamp corrected you should check the enter before date on your visa to be sure it was still valid.
July 20, 201510 yr Author Ahhh, that appears to be the problem. The enter before date was June 18, 2015.. I left the Kingdom on June 17th, but didn't re-enter until July 17th, 2015. I didn't realize. I assumed I could enter two times within a year or so. Oh well, my fault. Thanks for the information. You can, however, extend your current permission to stay you got from your visa exempt entry by 30 days by visiting a Thai immigration office and paying 1,900 Baht.
July 20, 201510 yr That "enter before date" gets a lot of people. Every double or triple entry visa has a "must enter before date". When the Thai consulate or embassy issues that visa that "must enter before date" starts counting down. The expiration date of the visa is midnight on that "must enter before date" It does NOT start from the date you enter Thailand it starts the day the double entry or triple entry is issued by what ever consulate or embassy issues it.
