Triple Entry Tourist Visa - Entry/Exit flights needed for all 3 entries within 90 days?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was just about to apply for a triple entry tourist visa at the Thai Embassy in Helsinki, Finland. I noticed on their site that it says that for a triple entry visa you need to provide entry/exit flights for all entries within 90 days.

I am a little confused. I thought with a triple entry visa I can enter for 60 days, extend by 30 and then exit, use my second entry and then have 60 days again. Have I understood something wrong, or is this requirement only specific to the Finnish Thai Embassy?

Any advice? I was wondering if non-paid flight reservations are sufficient..

The rules do vary from consulate to consulate. I can well believe that the Finnish embassy would enforce such a rule, but it is not normal.

It is not uncommon for some embassies and consulates to require a ticket out of the country for each entry. A ticket out is on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website under the requirements for a tourist visa. Some even want them to be 60 days apart.

It does not have to be a return to ticket to your home country. Many will accept a one way ticket to a nearby country.

Thanks for the info. My original plan was to get a cheap exit flight somewhere nearby e.g. Vientiane but they are asking for flights for all 3 entries/exits, so this would mean I need to have a total of 6 flights!

The info on the website is not very clear on what they want for a visa that allows more than one entry.

"6. A fully paid flight tickets entering and leaving Thailand within 90 days period or details information of your package holidays in English or Finnish.

If you wish to obtain 2 or 3 entries, please note that you must show all full paid flight tickets /package holidays for every entry to Thailand. The duration of your flight tickets must be within 3 months. We do not accept airlines staff card , stand by/open flight ticket."

You should contact them to find out if they will accept a one way ticket out for each entry.
