Court rules to charge BBC correspondent under Section 332

Mandalay – Judge Tun Kyi of the Chanmyatharzi Township Court in Mandalay region ruled at the tenth court hearing on July 21 to charge Nay Lin, a BBC correspondence under Section 332 of Penal Code for physically harming a public servant.

Section 332 says whoever voluntarily causes harm to a public servant conducting his duty or with intent to prevent or order that person or any other public servant from discharging his duty shall be punished with three years’ imprisonment or fine or both.

The judge ordered four plaintiff witnesses including the plaintiff himself to testify at next court hearing to be held on July 28.

Huh? He threw a punch at the policeman, but claims he is not guilty - or should the original story be that he is accused of punching the policeman?

Hazy story, few facts, reaching a conclusion is impossible.

it says

The accident happened during the student protest march in Mandalay on March 27. During the melee, Nay Lin threw a punch at the policeman and hurt him on his eyebrow, according to the police record.

The Incident?..allleged incident??

Punching a Public official , officer of the law, or any other person,as matter of fact, is punishable under all legal system of this world.....More info needed...

Not punishable under any circumstances until and unless the Court finds that it actually happened and delivers judgement.
