About 47 percent want cabinet reshuffle now

BANGKOK: -- About 47 percent of the respondents polled by Nida Poll say it is about time the cabinet should be reshuffled against about 41 percent who disagree with cabinet shakeup fearing that it may cause more confusion.

Myanmar labourer dies after falling off pickup truck in Phuket

PHUKET: A 26-year-old Myanmar labourer died this morning (July 26) when a vehicle slammed into the side of the pickup truck he was riding in, causing him to bounce off the back and hit his head on the road.

Plea for no more emergency prank calls

BANGKOK: -- The National Institute for Emergency Medicine's Call Centre (1669) has received 57 prank calls so far this month.

Until July 26, 17 prank calls were directed to the centre in Nakhon Ratchasima, 14 in Nakhon Pathom, 10 in Trang, 8 in Tak, 7 in Ratchaburi and 1 in Samut Songkhram.

Anucha Setsatient, secretary-general of the institute, said that such calls disrupted the rescue operations. He pleaded for no more prank calls.

The institute recently released a VDO showing a patient who died because of a prank call.
