August 6, 201510 yr Hi everyone, What is the best near country to apply for business visa, and what is the destination with the cheapest flight? Also is it required to enter by flight or is it ok by bus also? Thanks
August 6, 201510 yr Penang in Malaysia. They will issue if you have approval letter for your work permit from ministry of labour.
August 6, 201510 yr To get a single entry non-b visa Vientiane or Savannakhet Laos are also a good location. They also require the work permit application approval letter unless you are teaching.
August 6, 201510 yr Author Is it long to get the approval letter from Thai labour office? My employer should submit the WP3 form, is that correct?
August 6, 201510 yr Since you are already here in the country you employer would submit a WP1 form. It should not take more than a few days after the application is done to get the letter.
August 6, 201510 yr Author how do I get this form? I'm trying to google it now Do you think it's ok to go to Yangon for business visa? I checked the flight it's much cheaper I will finalize my marriage next Monday so I suppose it should help also in getting a business visa.
August 6, 201510 yr Author my google search brought me to this site http://wp.doe.go.th/wp/index.php/2013-07-25-03-44-08/form-english I think that's the good one
August 6, 201510 yr Work permit forms can be downloaded here. http://wp.doe.go.th/wp/index.php/2013-07-25-03-44-08/form-english I don't recall any recent reports of getting a non-b visa in Yangon. You can go to Vientiane by flying to Uudon Thani and then taking a van to the bridge in Nong Khai. Nok Air has a fly/ride service to Vientiane via Udon.
August 6, 201510 yr Author Thank you very much Ubonjoe. Maybe I should explain a bit my situation. I just finish my contract in Myanmar, I'm coming back to Thailand next Saturday. I have a 3 months baby with my Thai wife and we are finalizing our marriage next Monday, I'm French and our administration system is extremely slow and complicated. I got an offer to work in Thailand as a coating coordinator but the company hiring me has less than 1 million registered capital, I read that if married 1 million is ok and if not it's 2 million minimum. I have been working in Thailand 2 years ago, I worked 1 year and half as coating inspector. Maybe a copy of my previous work permit could help me too. I need to make all the paper work myself as my future company doesn't know much how to proceed.

You will require significant assistance from your employer to meet both Visa and Work Permit requirements http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/4908/15388-Non-Immigrant-Visa-%22B%22-(for-Business-and.html
August 6, 201510 yr If you are going to be in Yangon you could apply for a single entry non-o visa based upon being the parent of a Thai. You would need their birth certificate plus a copy and a copy of their house book registry. If married to a Thai you can get a work permit with only 1 million baht of registered capital but you would not be able to get an extension of stay based upon working with that amount of capital. Once you get married you could get the work permit and work with a non-o visa or extension of stay based upon marriage.
August 6, 201510 yr Author Does it mean I can get a work permit without business visa? just with a Non o visa So the first step should be to prepare this WP1 form, is it WP1 even if I already got a work permit before?
August 6, 201510 yr You can get a work permit and work with a non-o visa based upon marriage. You need to include a copy of your marriage certificate with the work permit application. The WP1 is the form that will be needed. It does not matter if you had a work permit before.
August 6, 201510 yr Author thank you very much for you answer and help. I don't know how you find the time to help so many people.
