Requirement, leadtime for marriage visa

Featured Replies

Hello all. I need some advice on this topic.

*Pls note, I am newbie to this...

Just for registering marriage at amphur, how long does it take?

Do I need to get some sort of official documents such as birth cert, etc from my home country?

Once all documents are ready, registering at amphur is set in 10-15 mins?

After above is complete, we need to go outside Thailand to apply Non-O visa?

About the proof of funds, I am not working in Thailand atm, and do not have capital of 400K THB in Thai account for the past 3 months...

But I do hold much value of more than 400K THB "as" USD in Kashikorn USD account...

Is this acceptable?

You need to get an Affirmation to Marry from your Embassy.

Assuming you are US this will tell you everything.

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/service/marriage.html

This then needs translating and taking to MFA in Bangkok for stamping.

The translation company can do this for you.

You can then register your marriage at the amphur.

Money has to be in the bank for 2 months.

$US accounts are accepted by many Immigration Offices.

You can get a Multi Entry Non O Visa without any funds if you wish.

The first thing you need to register your marriage is an affirmation of permit to marry from your embassy. Then it has to translated to Thai and the translation certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

How long it will take to register you marriage will depend upon how busy the are at the Amphoe.

You need a non-o visa to apply for an extension of stay at immigration. It is possible to a conversion to one at Bangkok immigration and it takes 2 trips 15 days apart to get it. If not living in or near Bangkok it would be best to go to a nearby embassy or consulate to get one.

Some immigration offices will accept a funds in a foreign currency account.

Thanks all for your replies.

Could you please let me know more in detail of Multi entry Non O Visa w/o any funds if I wish?

Is it like a document from the embassy that I have more than 400K or similar by word of mouth?

You can get a multiple entry non-o visa at the consulate in Savannakhet Laos with no financial proof. The visa will allow unlimited 90 day entries for a year. After the 90 days you must leave the country and re-enter to get another 90 day entry.

"Is it like a document from the embassy that I have more than 400K or similar by word of mouth?" Not sure what you are asking about.

The difference between with/without proof of fund is

With:just need to report 90days in th.

Without:need to leave th every 90days

Is my understanding correct....

Multi Entry Visa from Savanakhet. Have to leave and return every 90 days.

No finance needed.

5,000 Baht fee.

Extension from Immigration. Do not have to leave but report to Immigration every 90 days.

400,000 Baht in the bank for 2 months or 40,000 income a month.

1,900 Baht fee.
