I'm here on a 30 day visa exempt entry and arrived on 14 July. On Thursday I was rushed to hospital and ended up having my gall bladder removed. I'm still in hospital and probably will not be released until Tuesday which misses my planned departure date. My question is I think my 30 days are up on Thursday, do I have to leave the country on the 30th day of my visit or the day after?

By my count yout 30 day entry ends on the 12th (the date of entry counts is day one). You need to leave on that day.

If you need more time you could apply for a 30 day extension at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht.

Cheers guys as I thought. Also made an error in my post and thought id edited it. I arrived 1am on the 15 July so it would make it Thursday I have to leave. I'm in no condition to sit 4 hours at the immigration office so will hassle my travel insurance to get flight sorted for Thursday but my worry is I might not have a clearance to fly by then.

You can also get up to 90 days extension if you are unable to travel.

A lot of hospitals will have a department that deals with Immigration.

Maybe your Hospital can sort it on your behalf.
