I have another thread currently regarding a recent visa denial as a dependent of a Tier 4 student to the UK. My wife used Thai Passport and was approved as student, I was not approved as dependent. I am hoping to correct what they perceived as a dubious marriage. They included in the reason for denial info about my being on a retirement visa, and its expiration date next year; clearly sooner than my UK visa would expire (it cannot be otherwise). This might be present simply as information considered. I need to confirm my understanding so I can reason out my response.

If approved, when in UK next year, as an American dependent attached to a Thai UK student visa, can I simply apply to the Thai consulate in Cardiff for the same 90 day visa I used a few years ago? Then, when I arrive back in Thailand on brand new visa, begin the same process to reapply for retirement extension, right?

Also, would having no single or multiple re entry permits negatively affect me; or appear in some manner I do not grasp? I do not plan on returning prior to my wife.

Since they denied me as thinking the date of legal marriage was too soon to the application (I now see their point) am I prejudiced by having a retirement visa instead of a marriage visa? I think not as they are both available to me but I want to understand for sure as I prepare my second application.

Thank you.

I assume this question is in regard to your UK application, and as stated in the relevant topic; no.

BTW, this is not the right forum to ask about Thai visas; I have asked the Mods via the report button to move this topic to the correct one where you will receive, hopefully, the right answer.

Ah ,yes, you are correct. Thank you. The question regards my UK application and my understanding of how I am able to easily depart UK for my return here.

(This whole thing sucks the happiness out of me).

You could easily apply for a single entry non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai in the UK, Then apply for an extension of stay based upon retirement or marriage here.

You not getting a re-entry permit will have no effect on either application,
