The State Enterprises Labour Relations Confederation seeks cancellation of state enterprise privatization

The State Enterprises Labour Relations Confederation will petition the Council of Democratic Reform under the Constitutional Monarchy (CDRM) to cancel all the plans to privatize state enterprises.

Confederation executive Amnart Palamee (อำนาจ พละมี) said the group, which looks after 300,000 state enterprise employees, will hand a letter to CDRM next week calling for cancellation of state enterprise privatization, for the state to hold a full 100% stake in state enterprises which provide public utilities services and for the new constitution to make it mandatory for the government to listen to public opinions before signing any agreement with other countries.

Some reports said the confederation might ask CDRM to take back the state enterprises which had already been privatized, such as PTT Plc., formerly the Petroleum Authority of Thailand.
