Gmail freezes

Featured Replies

I don't know if anyone else has this problem but often Gmail tends to freeze completely when I open it.

I mean I can see my emails but I cannot do anything. I move the cursor over the different options: Tabs for different groups, emails, contacts etc. but it never changes shape to the little pointing hand and I cannot do anything. Refreshing doesn't help.

I can open another window and no problem so it isnt my computer and I assume it isn't Firefox.

Any ideas?

Gmail is web2.0 so probably an issue with JavaScript, or Cookie being corrupted.

Sometimes if you are experiencing internet connectivity issues all the web2.0 elements don't get delivered in time and page rendering just freezes.

Try clearing browser data (cache) first, then cookies if that doesn't work. Sometimes a full history wipe is needed to clean things up (who knows what junk is causing issues).

Thanks. I will try

I have noticed it usually happens when I have been online for sometime.

I never save history.
