If you quit your job but are staying another 30 days, what is the best procedure? I understand when the work visa is canceled, you have 24 hours to exit.

I know people that have gone to immigration to cancel their visa but doesn't the visa get canceled if they leave the country without a reentry? Meaning, could one fly to another country and return with the 30 day visa to accomplish what I want?

I am on a Non-Immigrant B visa and have been for a few years. I want to make sure I don't face fines if my employer cancels the visa after I resign.

If you have a valid non-b visa issued by an embassy or consulate it will not be cancelled Immigration does not cancel visas nor the 90 day entries from them.

If you have an extension of stay you applied for at an immigration office it ends when your job ends and you must leave the country on the date it is cancelled. There is no 24 hours.

You can fly out and back to get a 30 day visa exempt entry without cancelling your extension.
