JAG
Amazing how many bitter people have already posted not on the actual topic but instead choose some snide remark against a young innocent man.... What bitter, twisted and jealous characters Thai Visa sometimes attracts.... It's simple jealousy by the grumpy old men who at 22 were probably doing some dead end job in some miserable place like Dundee. They found Thailand when they were 50 years old and past it and love to bring down young English teachers or backpackers Couldn't agree more - frightful place Dundee, full of the sort of chaps who sleep in their vests! Incidentally, I am a bit past 50, and still on occasion referred to as "Handsome"! Edited August 19, 2015 by JAG

You haven't been to Newcastle. Grim, where stray dogs throw themselves in front of moving cars out of despair. When I was 22 and poor, girls seldom acknowledged my presence. Now that I'm more decadent and wealthy, women think I'm "sexy".

carter1882
Many people are very jumpy at the moment but I think he did the right thing by going to the police. My mind goes back to London in. July 2005. Remember that two weeks after the outrages three other men with bombs in backpacks tried a repeat. They got the recipe for the bombs wrong and all there was was a fizzle. However, people should be vigilant....if the bomber, or indeed others are intent on causing harm there could be a further attack. The security in London was powerless to stop it and likewise I would not expect any difference here.
jspill
Nothing enrages the old gits more than being a young farang in Thailand. This should be a long thread. LOL Only took 10 posts for someone to mention work permits too

Baerboxer
Trying for his 2 minutes of attention. Model, indeed. Must be quite the lucrative job, as he is working as an unlicensed english "tutor" in the interim. Hope he doesn't teach them to speak with that awful squeaky Aussie accent too, I hope all his immigration papers are in order. Acting, modelling, English Tutor - must have an interesting work permit too. Spoken like a true Englishman but I get your point. What point? That he is a condescending tosser? Unlike yourself - total gripper. At least a tosser has the intelligence to move, unlike a gripper like your good self.

Well if you are offended by the Australian accent, why n uot do us a favour and bugger off back to where ever.and have your boring discussions with your fellow countrymen. Why when there are so many "beasts" willing to bite and be amusing here? Listen to his voice. And you think he could teach conversational English? If you're so vain and easily offended feel free to ignore me, my posts and comments Bruce. Edited August 19, 2015 by Baerboxer
MW72
Amazing how many bitter people have already posted not on the actual topic but instead choose some snide remark against a young innocent man.... What bitter, twisted and jealous characters Thai Visa sometimes attracts.... or... we're not jealous (of what, btw), just not naive. selfies posted online at a questioning related to a horrific crime. perhaps you are the type who would also take/post a selfie in such a circumstance. i, for one, am not; and find it highly inappropriate/self absorbed/pathetic. add in his aggressive desire to talk to media outlets and, ummm, do i really need to spell this out for you? At a time when emotions are running high someone plasters this guys picture, documents and address on social media saying he is the bomber. Every chance he could have been lynched if he did not respond. Regardless of whether he is an attention seeker or not he took the best course of action open to him. He went to the police to clear his name and made sure it was posted all over social media. I for one don't blame him under the circumstances. He must have been $#itting himself. It's easy to be so high and mighty when it is not happening to you. I think you may be more naive than you think.

I'd like to agree with you, but that is the world we live in whether we like it or not. This guy was publicly accused of a terrible crime ON SOCIAL MEDIA, and regardless of the success (or not) of his career to date, he is in the social media world by the nature of his desired profession. If you were accused of something like this publicly, online where it can never be completely deleted, you would be a fool to not also get your side of the story into the public awareness using the same social media sites. What will happen to this guy in a few years when his future boss googles his name?? You better have BOTH sides of the story out there, especially the fact that you cooperated with the police investigation and were immediately cleared as a suspect. In my book, that isn't self absorbed, it is self preservation.
Jiggo
Nothing enrages the old gits more than being a young farang in Thailand. This should be a long thread. no ingrown toenails, not having to pay for sex, not carrying a ton of body fat, no need for viagra for 2 minutes of 'intimacy', not having paid for sick buffalo... please feel a little sorry for the old gits and keep in mind one day we will all be old If they are lucky...... Maggusoil
Someone posted his details on Social Media without a second thought to the validity of what they posted. In a period of high-intentions the outcome of such a rash and foolish act could've been quite different. The young blogger was brave and switched on to hand himself in to the Police who it appears handled the situation correctly. No doubt Sunny Burns breathes a sigh of relief this morning. What we're not getting here. It was his agent.
stickylies
Needs a hair cut and shave, what is it with the Farang who come here and look worse than the locals ?? i think he looks cute (compared to most faces here on TV) and i'm not gay and not a woman anyway, even if the guy was just looking for 3 minutes of fame, his name WAS publicly listed on idiotic social media and the police DID search his appt. as for the WP and immigration stuff, none of (y)our business. sambum
"terrorist version of Schapelle Corby" errr... she was guilty.... errr..... she maintains she was innocent, but was found guilty - I think what this young man means is that he is innocent, but feared that he may have been found guilty. In my book, that isn't self absorbed, it is self preservation. sorry, the response to 'shi**ing yourself' isn't that selfie. does he look worried? or... does he look like he's posing and that that was selfie # 17 that finally got the look he was going for? you also wouldn't be working into the conversation to stress that you're a model, actor, tutor, fashion blogger, pisces... so people can easily look you up. kinda like if he was some insurance salesman going on about how he's kinda rich and famous and, btw, given his success, as documented at thaiinsurancestar.com (free insurance quotes if you mention the bombing when you make your appointment), would have never taken a lowly tuk tuk, moto or been wearing non-Armani clothes like that without one of his rolexes on his wrist..... too much information? yeah, i think so too. i've been around long enough to recognize when someone is in self promotion mode- and he's it. that he's doing it in this situation is despicable.
