bow
When I google "download youtube" a program called "YTD Video downloader" is on top of the first page. My antivirus program freaks out when it discovers this program. It is supposed to be full of malware and spyware. Is there a safe program that I can use to download youtube stuff ? KhunBENQ
So many programs and different approaches. The one that I use since some months is called "Youtube Downloader HD". Its simple but works fine. I did not notice any threats. http://www.youtubedownloaderhd.com/
Tywais
I've been using this FF addon for a long time and it handles more than just YouTube videos. Of course it is not a standalone app but if you are running FF it works very well. Download Flash and Video

aarn
If you use FireFox, just download the extension/add-on YouTube Video and Audio Downloader

userabcd
FDM - DL and install ''Free Download Manager (FDM)'' and in settings, set your DL folder.Flashgot - In firefox, install the extension ''Flashgot'' and in options, select and set the DL manager as FDM.Open any YT vid, the Flashgot ext will blink in the browser titlebar, click it and it will auto grab YT vids and save them to your designated folder. SoiBiker
Quickest way - click on the url bar, and add 'ss' just before youtube, so it reads www.ssyoutube. etc.

petedk
I've used several programs for downloading youtube videoes and they all seem to work well. YTD, Freemake Video Downloader and FF extension. Last week someone told me to use a chrome extension. I haven't tried with YouTube yet but I have tried with other sites and it works well.
