Basil B
Why not use them to record everybody going on and off the pier too At least the the recording device will not go down with the boat... And how are they going to deal with the private charter speed boat working from the beaches?

KittenKong
Good idea. There should be some great clips to put on Youtube when the next boat capsizes.
IAMHERE
I'll be the first to bet the CCTV on the boats aren't waterproof, not even water resistant.

tropo
Are they gonna plug them in as well .... ? Doesn't it remind you of the pedestrian light fiasco? Not soon after they were installed they started turning them off - first on weekends, then permanently. If the CCTV they plan to install are as bad as the ones in Bangkok around Erawan Shrine, they may as well not bother.
jacko45k
They should be installed at the top of the mast as this is more likely to stay above water.
