This place is in Kanchanaburi Province. Go to Erawan Waterfall and just passed that there is a turn off to your left to Srinakharin Dam National Park. Only 42 kms thereafter on a very rough no tarmac road you will reach it. This was my second time there, but went there on that rough road. Near on 2 hours on that road to go 42 kms. I would not advise this road. Use the other route.

The first time, I went the long way around on an easier way, on two ferries across the Srinakarin Reservoir. Great views there as well along that way. Go during the "Rainy Season" then the Waterfall should be as full as you have see in my photo.

Should you wish to go there, take a Thai with you that knows the area and way.

Took me 4 hours there, 1 click as you saw, 4 hours back with a whole group of people. On your own it should not take you that long.

and very easy to walk to this waterfall from the main site, toilets, showers, food etc. are there as well.

When we did visit, we got a really nice feeling. The town just had a very pleasant feel to it. I wouldn't mind living there.

Is that big wooden bridge rebuilt yet? I've never been, but sounds neat. And from what I've heard, a beautiful area. I guess you can stay on floating rooms in the lake??? Definitely worth an overnighter for that!

Yes, the Mon bridge has been rebuilt. Wife and I were there last week. Here are a few pics of the bridge and other sites in the area, the Hindad hot springs, 3 Pagoda Pass, Erawan NP, river Kwai bridge. Those floating houses you see in the pics of the Mon bridge offer rooms for rent but they looked a bit worn.

spent three nights 2 days there and didn't regret it, specially the bridge, he'll fire pass and museum that made everyone cry at the horrors that those poor men were put through, the war cemetery which is beautifully kept. Lovely area, hot!, and good food! One of the best weekends I've had in Thailand.

So you ignored all the advice and went to the one attraction that people would probably recommend you don't visit, then a market that's about 100km from Kanchanaburi?

That was a rather a waste of everyone's time.

Btw i raed on the news report on police trying to rescue the tigers and got into some altercation with the monks.

SB is SoiBiker. The tiger temple is one of the worst tourist attractions in Thailand. Probably in all of Asia. Do some more research and you'll eventually read about the controversy.

Sadly true - which is why they're worth mentioning! Lots of people come here wanting to see elephants, so I'd rather they found out about somewhere that treats them well.

It seems a vet blew the whistle as certain tigers went missing, turned out the monks were selling them for their body parts, all caught on camera .
