BANGKOK, 25 August 2015 (NNT) - Thirayuth Lorlertratna of the National Reform Council (NRC) has expressed his satisfaction with the charter drafter’s inclusion of many of the NRC’s amendment requests. He expects the majority of the NRC to vote in favor of passing the new constitution.

Mr Thirayuth, who chairs the NRC’s committee on state administration reform, says he is pleased with attempts by the Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) to incorporate as much of the NRC’s requests as possible, such as the provision for a strategic committee on budget and financial reform.

NRC's Prasarn in support of new charter

BANGKOK, 25 August 2015 (NNT) - Prasarn Marukpitak of the National Reform Council (NRC) has expressed satisfaction with the new constitution, speculating that it would definitely be passed.

After reviewing the document in detail, Mr Prasarn said the new charter does well to empower citizens, clean up politics, create social justice and bring peace to the country.

He said he paid close attention to how the new constitution addresses the rights and freedoms of citizens and found that the charter drafters have touched on the topic in many provisions.

Mr Prasarn is also in support of the constitution’s provisions stipulating an unelected Prime Minister, the National Strategic Reform and Reconciliation Commission and a mostly appointed Senate.
