Katipo
The flood of incompetence turned out to be more dangerous than a flood of water ever could Edited August 26, 2015 by Katipo
Thunder26
This is not the first time. Also in Nonthaburi if I'm not wrong a similar case happened on 345 Rd about 2 years ago. A worker was killed while they tried to raise a building. Utter incompetence causes this kind of accidents.

FangFerang
I want to be a building inspector in Thailand. I would get paid for NOT working.
zaphod reborn
Were they trying to raise the building up on a bed of toothpicks? That's a concrete building and the wood debris that liters the worksite couldn't possibly support that structure. What were they thinking?
ddavidovsky
The debris is clearly from the roof. I know nothing about this but it seems obvious to me that in this kind of operation, some kind of belt is needed around the entire building to prevent the walls cracking and being pushed out by the weight of the roof. It is not. This just happened when building dropped then roof construction opened walls to the outside. It looks like whole building was not supported strongly and evenly under . This procedure of lifting need really good hydraulic lifters synchronised which Thai probably did not have ...
gigman
Nature could not do so much damage...as people... I think Monks would more happy to cover flood damages now instead of having this disaster. Edited August 26, 2015 by gigman

halloween
At least they were smart enough to realise praying wouldn't work. Praise the lord, but put a lightning rod on your steeple.

Sorry building a wall will not help flood water.... the water comes up from the ground... maybe they should watch on TV 'Mega Moves' to see how it can be done. monkey4u
The guys who tried to raise the building should change their profession to Demolition contractors
toybits
A chapel refers to a Christian place of worship. The OP title was misleading.
