Having been bitten by mosquitoes 100's if not 1,000's of times I am aware of the effect their bite have on me which is pretty non-existent unlike this bite that causes considerable discomfort and lasts for hours. Have been bitten by red ants before but only ever at ground level, am on the 20th floor and never seen an ant in the place. It's now been 4 hours and the discomfort is still pretty intense and the swelling is larger too.

There are many different types of mosquito and the reaction to their bites can differ too.

I was immune to Mosquito bites where I grew up, I would feel the bite, but have no reaction at all.

Here in Thailand I have no immunity and do have a reaction to the bites.

Did you know that mosquitoes kill more people than any other animal on earth...except for other people?

Rove beetle?

Not likely.

I got one or more of those nasty little ******** in my boots while mowing the lawn once. Long story short, I had huge blisters down to the flesh -- pretty much 3rd degree burns on my foot and calf.

In Puerto Rico I had bites similiar to yours while I was working on the docks. Folks called them "No see ums" because they were so tiny.

Some calamine lotion will stop the itching and burning. Those little suckers ate up my arm. Painful.

Different people have different reactions to bites. For me a mozzie bite is a small itchy spot.

On the other hand I get reactions like this to those tiny red ants and small spider bites.

My house has been invaded over the past year with tiny ants, that bite me on the ankles and make me itch. At least I think they are the culprit as I've never seen anything biting my feet, but it's a different itch from mossies.

I have to spray the floor frequently or they drive me crazy.

People react in different ways but that is deffo a mozzie bite.

Put a spoon in hot (NOT boiling) water and hold it on the bite for a minute or so.

Buy a can of spray and spray the dark nooks and crannies (behind cupboards wardrobes, though not ones where you store food) in your condo/house just before you head out.....

Good advice I would say. Did you see the mosquitoes? Otherwise it could be bed bugs, yes bed bugs take ride on your bags when you been to places where they have bed bugs.

I had bed bugs hiding in my backpack when I went to the internet where the chairs are infested with bed bugs.

Surely they would be chair bugs?

Ok, I'll get my coat.
