Eligible for Visa on Arrival?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I have had 2 30 day visa on arrival stamps already within the past 6 months. In addition, I have had a 1 month extension stamp. Am I eligible for another visa on arrival already or must I wait?

Edit: I am from the UK.

There is no 30 day visa on arrival. Visas on arrival are only for 15 days and cost 1000 baht for those from certain countries.

You apparently have been getting visa exempt entries.

There is no written rule that limits visa exempt entries or the frequency of them. You should be able to get another one now without a problem,

Yes, visa exemption is what I meant, apologies.

Thanks for the information.

No specific limits for visa exemptions. As long as you never over stayed and which was recorded, feel free to come and go as many times as you wish .

What is a "VoD tourist visa" and on what basis was a two month extension provided ?

... unless you have the misfortune at some point to draw a cranky IO who takes a random disliking to you ...

There is that guy who was refused on 3rd visa exempt at Cambodian border last week...

OP you did not mention if your currently in Thailand. Even if you are why not fly out have a short break and fly back in. Probably cost the same. Note since your from UK pretty sure you guys get 15 days visa exempt in Vietnam. Flights are so cheap.

Some border reports may be due to recent trouble in bkk.

Being UK you could fly in/out Thailand with few stamps and sometimes get a TV. Not that expensive.

What angers immigration is a person who does repeated visa exempt entries but appears to them as working in Thailand without a work permit, which is illegal.

That is one of the reasons some people are asked for evidence of being able to support themselves in Thailand as a tourist td prove they are not working illegally.
