webfact
Israeli Embassy reopens in Cairo, 4 years after attackJERUSALEM (AP) — Israel has reopened its embassy in Cairo, four years after an Egyptian mob ransacked the site where the mission was previously located. In a statement, Israel's Foreign Ministry quoted director Dore Gold as saying at Wednesday's opening ceremony that Israel and Egypt "are working together for stability and prosperity" in the region. It says the Israeli flag was raised and the national anthems of both countries were played during the ceremony at the new location of the embassy.Israeli diplomats and their families left Cairo in 2011, after rioters stormed the embassy amid angry protests over the deaths of five Egyptian policemen in Sinai, killed by Israeli forces chasing Gaza militants who had carried out a deadly attack.Egypt and Israel have maintained cordial relations since the 1979 peace treaty.-- (c) Associated Press 2015-09-

Jingthing
Just in time for the big natural gas find. What a surprise to read a nasty remark from the sameSo true. The obsessive Israel demonization agenda isn't about supporting peace with Israel. It's about ending the very existence of Israel. So of course any positive news is mocked. The same what? No surprise to see an illogical remark from you, trying desperately to vilify anyone who is perceived to be pointing out any of Israel's very real flaws. Jingthing
Best wishes to Egypt and the world's one and only Jewish state of Israel. Two great middle east nations and peoples both of which can be proud of their ancient civilization roots in the region. OK have to admit the Egyptians have much better relics. Truth is now more than ever Egypt needs Israel as IS is expanding and would be moving to Sinai if has not already. Egypt is aware, their military capability and funds are pretty low. Having "good" relations with Israel ensures Israeli assistance one way or another once IS comes knocking Plus relations were good, until Morsi and Co came to power, it is now back with military so best to normalize it. Steely Dan
I'll make a prediction here and now. Within three years Israel and the GCC will dismantle Hizbollah in Lebanon and overthrow the Iranian regime. Then Israel and the Arabs will make peace. All the left wing Israel haters will be absolutely gobsmacked, not to say rendered totally irrelevant.

Intervention or withdrawal are akin to weight being put on or taken off a certain spring leading to its neighbors moving up or down as a result. The U.S is the largest weight of course which results in more disturbance elsewhere, especially when the direction of U.S foreign policy under Obama has been so heavily stacked towards disengagement. Egypt is but one example of this policy backfiring, in enabling the Muslim Brotherhood the current U.S administration has alienated Egypt. In enabling Iran it has alienated Israel and Saudi Arabia. I stand by my predictions, here is some news that seems to as yet be totally forgotten by the western media - There is a major ground offensive underway in Yemen today to finally clear out the Houthis. Egypt will IMHO be involved right now, or certainly when the campaign to depose the Iranian Mullahs gets going. Israel, Egypt and the Gulf states (save for Qatar) are allies, but news flow has obviously to be managed carefully. http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2015-09/13/c_134620160.htm
