‘Bride brokers’ arrested in capital

SIX people, including three Chinese nationals, have been charged with allegedly attempting to traffic three Cambodian women as brides to China.

Lieutenant Colonel Keo Thea, chief of the municipal anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection unit in Phnom Penh, said the suspects were arrested on Wednesday during raids at two guesthouses in Phnom Penh’s Prampi Makara district.

The group, which has been sent to Prey Sar prison, includes Gau Wuhua, 42, Yu Yinghong, 39, Li Honglin, 24, Ky Chheang Ang, 57, Srey Hour, 60, and Im Heap, 60.
