Thai Authorities Intensify Laws on Child Pornography

Those who possess pornography showing under aged individuals for personal entertainment purposes are liable for a jail term of up to five years and/or a maximum fine of 100,000 baht

BANGKOK – Thailand’s Government is set to introduce a stricter law carrying longer prison terms against anyone possessing or distributing pornographic material of children under the age of 18, starting in December, the media reported on Monday.

A section of the Criminal Code governing possession, distribution and benefits derived from such pornography has been amended to allow for tougher prosecution of offenders, said Sarawut Benjakul, secretary-general of the Institute of Legal Education, Thai Bar Association.

The amendment follows Thailand’s signing of the International Convention on Children’s Rights, the Bangkok Post reported.

As long as their are people willing to buy or do this sort of sickness then their will always be a market for it and a payoff to allow it to continue. All involved from the perpetrator to the buyer, the vendors and police should all be hung up by a rope to their @@#$%. Sick people even to allow it to happen.

There is an unwritten assumption that it's the Westerners, but they took a survey of "child sex workers". Oddly, very oddly, it meant they had a list of people to call. No enforcement of the pedophiles, but lots of shock and surprise the customers are not Western.

I've never seen a child working in either of those places but if I did I would inform the authorities. Why didn't you?

It takes a few years of being around to be able to even come close to guessing a Thai woman's age, especially in a bar when everything is new.

Met My wife when I was 34. She looked beautiful as always, but due to some language problems, I thought she said she was 21.

She LOOKED 21 to me. Turns out she was 27.

She's 41 now. Still hot. Still 99 lbs, same as when I met her.

Many Thai women look younger than they are. Hell, Yingluck looks like she's 35 & she's 48.

I've heard a lot of stories in Thailand too. Ghost stories and such. I am an educated and have toured all the bars in Pattaya and the expat areas in Bangkok. No children. That was years ago and only in Thai bars. You would do well to believe less gossip and trust your own experiences in Thailand. If you want to see bad stuff in Thailand hop on a fishing boat.

First thing is to educate yourself as to what and how old a child is. This thread is about laws on child pornography. A woman may be underage for going in a bar at 18 as the age to drink in a bar is 20.

Second thing is stop trying to act like an expert on information from your friend's cousin. My friends cousin thinks the moon is made of cheese. See what I mean?

Third, after 10 years in Thailand perhaps you will be able to tell the age of Thai women. It is obvious now, you can't.

Fourth, Walking street is patrolled by at least 3 different police forces and the chance of children sex workers there is remote.

Fifth if you are trying to change the definition of child pornography to underage bar workers it has been done over and over and over.

It is not the same thing. One day a woman is 17 years and 364 days old and the next day she is 18 years old. Ya, ya we all know the age of consent should be changed to 30 years of age in your case or 68 years of age in my case.
