Turkey says no cooperation from Thailand in bomb probe

Too much foreign involvement implies an act of terrorism and that's a word the authorities are terrified of using as they don't want to scare the tourists.

Nothing is more important than tourist revenue and as for the truth !

The truth, what's that ?

Its all about values and culture. In the West finding and telling the truth is the moral high ground. In Thailand this is not the priority; its maintaining face. Thus the appearance is more important than the facts. Hence the daily updates, misinformation, dead ends, uturns, new theories, and lack of truths. Could we have expected anything else?

Thai authorities refuse all cooperation with Turkey without saying. The usual message about collaboration is "diplomatic"

As an individual and given all the bad consequences for my own country to "cooperate" with an Islamic government, I think they are right..

Come on this is the PM's Thainess working flat out to portray a democratic and understanding nation.

FAILING MISERABLY OF COURSE WITH OUTRIGHT LIES AND INNUENDOS.

THEY (RTP) WILL CLAIM MISUNDERSTANDING, m\MIS-COMMUNICATION AND FOREIGN MEDIA LYING

This is again anther kick in the nether regions for Thailand.

Unless of course Turkey is lying and what the authorities have been telling the public has in fact been the truth.........................rolleyes.gif

Seems like somebody's finger has slipped off the pulse somewhere along the line.

You actually think the finger was ever on the pulse?

The salient point is that once again, and seemingly as usual, the RTP and it's senior officers are shown to be lying and contradicting themselves.

Anyone who thinks this is a real police force would be very disappointed. They are good at making things up as they go along, extortion, eating and drinking, preferably booze, avoiding real police work and have no interest what so ever in law enforcement and justice.

And, many former senior police officers go on to pursue a career in politics. They must find their previous training and experience highly useful.

Perhaps the Thai Embassy in Turkey contacted the government there, as they might be able to provide assistance, rather than the Thai government contacting the Turkish Embassy in Thailand, which probably can't help in an investigation in Turkey.

Yeeeeah ... That's the ticket.

I guess I'm wondering, how could it benefit Thailand not to get help form Turkey? It may seem like a naive question, but as much as nationals from there have been implicated it is amazing that none of the suspects have been verified?

They don't want anything to do with an investigation which will very likely show up China in general and Thailand in particular as being responsible for the bombing of Bangkok as a result of the internationally condemned forced repatriation of the Uighurs. 'Please make it go away, please make it go away ..' Time for an Ostrich emoticon.

This is from the OP. It would appear that there has been no contact with the Embassy or with the Foreign Ministry and apparently not with any other Turkish gov't office.

“Up to now this Embassy has not been contacted by Thai authorities in this respect, and we do not have information concerning the investigation,” read yesterday’s statement from the embassy.

A spokesman from Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also quoted saying Thailand has ignored requests for information regarding suspects who reportedly fled to Turkey or were Turkish nationals.

“We have not officially received any information about this subject from Thailand," Tanju Bilgic said in a weekly press briefing yesterday in Ankara, Turkey, according to Reuters.

Fair enough. I stand corrected.
