Lost driving license

Featured Replies

I've lost my 5 year driving license.

How easy is it to get a replacement & what does it entail?

I still have my expired 1 year one with holes punched into it by the Transport Office

Should be OK...

You'll be able to go to the DLT and get a replacement.

The Rules have eased off a little recently - You no longer need to present the DLT a Police Report when replacing a lost Driving Licence.

Thank you Richard.

The last I saw of it was when I was on a video chat with the missus & our toddlers.

They had got hold of it & it hasn't been seen since.

Just to report that I did indeed go to the DLT & they couldn't have been more helpful.

I got there at 1pm & was out by 2pm with a shiny new replacement license & 205BT lighter.

I had to fill out a form declaring where I lost it with my details, it was all in Thai but the girl on the desk on the 2nd floor translated the whole thing as I filled it out while she was also dealing with constant flow of people coming up the stairs.

A russian fella was there making a proper nuisance of himself & suggesting very indiscreetly that he was willing to come to an 'arrangement' with them to get a driving license as he said that he had spoken to a policeman who had advised him to speak to the top man in the office.

Even in this country you don't stand at the front of a govenment official & declare to all & sundry that you are willing to bribe someone & could they please step forward, or do you?

Anyway top marks to that young lady at the DLT office!
