BANGKOK: -- Former foreign minister Noppadol Patthama has proposed his three-point “super reconciliation” plan to ease political conflicts and to restore national reconciliation.

The ex-minister of the Pheu Thai party who was recently acquitted by the Supreme Court’s criminal division for political office holders over the controversial Thai-Cambodian MOU regarding the Khao Phra Viharn ancient temple said Sunday that, in order to ease conflicts, all parties in the conflicts must put an end of hate speeches of all forms in the social media and other media.

Even if the two sides in the conflicts wear different colours of shirts and do not love each other they should respect each other’s rights because he himself has just gone through the false accusations, said Mr Noppadol.

The second point of his “super reconciliation” plan calls for the holding of national forums to allow all sides in the conflicts and other stakeholders to come forward to discuss their problems in order to find the way out which is acceptable to all, said Mr Noppadol.

The country has have fair rules acceptable to all – that is a constitution which is democratic, standard and will bring about stability, said the former prime minister, adding that the essence of the charter should be more important than the drafters of the charter.

He said he would like his three-point reconciliation plan to be considered by parties concerned.

What is the third point? A hidden agenda?

Blanket amnesty for all Shin and redshirt crimes.

Well if the army automatically get amnesty....... would not want double standards now would we......

What were the crimes of the army?

Undertaking a coup

No there just change an unelected (corrupt) caretaker government by an administrative government.

Yingluck loose her job by legal channel

Ok, you are possibly the only person in the world that believes it was not a coup, including the people who actually undertook it.

Back on planet earth meanwhile....

And by the way the army granted themselves amnesty for their past, present and futur actions...

Nice to work in such light atmosphere....

But not against Yingluck I think, she was out already.

Else you are right, technically it was a coup. But someone had to do something....

So, stop criticizing opponents, except at "national forums" with, presumably, approved delegates. Add to this a democratic standard constitution (except for the restraints on free speech) and all the problems are solved, right?

At last a voice crying in the wilderness with a solution that makes sense. Where there is a will there is a way. Opps forgot for a second where I was living.

" Political Conflict"? More like a mob turf war to me. No politician is interested in the well being of the country they claim to LOVE. It's all about individual enhancement e.g. power/money etc. Nothing is down for the betterment of the "children of Thailand." Hell the masses are not even taught or encouraged to think.

A three point reconciliation process....And I thought that a foreign minister would be somewhat more informed than that, or maybe he is just playing along with the rest of the actors in the present govt.

First of all there are not two sides in the Thai politics soup, there are three sides, so a three point reconciliation would actually be appropriate for the three sides...smile.png

What is that slogan in the news? "Our country Together we become strong"? or something like that?

Can't wait for Prayuth to say that in front of the foreign press at the UN defending the coup. Use comedy and may win over the global audience. Humour them to death cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

Give it another year or so until all opposition has been eliminated and then the REAL reconciliation can start, mai pen rai.

That's one way of looking at it. Another would be:
