webfact
DPM Prawit: No action has been taken against rallying studentsBANGKOK, 22 September 2015 (NNT) - A deputy prime minister has assured the public that no action has been taken against a group of students who joined in a rally against the current government over the weekend.Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Prawit Wongsuwon said that the authorities have not so far taken any legal action against the students who gathered on the streets of Bangkok last Saturday although all codes of law must be respected in order to keep social order.Gen. Prawit stated that activities that anyone may initiate must not stir up conflict, while he is aware that some groups of people who oppose the National Council for Peace and Order are still active. He went on to say that the NCPO is working hard to move Thailand towards democratic rule that will remain stable and secure in the future. In other developments, the DPM said that the proposed inclusion of a law governing the registration of political parties in the new Constitution may be possible, but that the issue needs to wait until a new team of charter drafters is set up first.-- NNT 2015-09-

MZurf
"DPM Prawit: No action has been taken against rallying students" How utterly magnanimous! Add to this the way they graciously relived the populace of the tiresome burden to vote and you can really begin to fathom the depth of the military's unselfishness and inherent goodness!! Lovekorat
Well as you are moving the country towards democracy perhaps the first thing you should realise is that democracy includes the right to have an opinion and express it in a non-violent way. Your need to say that 'no action' will be taken and the forbidding of public meetings that are in opposition to military rule just underlines what a lot of people think that you are as interested in installing democracy as you are in getting rid of corruption,

chainarong
No action against students and so the game still continues 40 years on and so there should be no action , the paranoia of the military with plots around every corner is laughable at it's worst, like children who haven't grown up , face the facts, the Thai military was defeated by it's own people lead by young students , nothing can disgrace a military better than that and the losers are still playing the same game, no learning from history.
