Aek to be permanent secretary at PM's Office
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Deputy National Police Chief Pol General Aek Angsananont will take up a new job as permanent secretary for the PM's Office on October 1. Cabinet approved his appointment Tuesday.

The top post at the PM's Office will become vacant at the end of this month because the current permanent secretary ML Panadda Diskul has resigned to focus on his post as PM's Office minister.

Aek said yesterday it was a good opportunity for him to work at the PM's Office.

"I would like to thank my seniors for entrusting me with this important post. In doing this job, I will be able to use my knowledge and abilities for the benefits of the nation," he said.

Aek is the most senior deputy national police commissioner. However, he has already lost his chance to rise to the helm of the police force as Deputy National Police Chief Pol General Chakthip Chaijinda was officially chosen to succeed National Police Chief Pol General Somyot Poompanmuang last month.
