Visa ?'s

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I will be traveling to Thailand with my kids in March and staying for 30 days leaving to Cambodia (over land) for about a week and returning to Thailand for 2 weeks before I fly out. For a total of 45 or so days in Thailand.

My questions are-

My onward airline ticket will show that I am leaving 45 days after my arrival because I am going over land to Cambodia. Will they let me in with a 30 visa exemption that is offered to US citizens? Or will they see that my onward ticket is later than 30 days and offer me a tourist visa?

Will I be able to stay in the Kingdom for 30 days and then leave for a week and come back for 15 days without a visa?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

It is the airline you fly here with that might not let you fly if no visa and no flight out of Thailand within 30 days.

You shouldn't have a problem re-entering by land with a visa exempt entry. But given receny events with Cambodia border crossings you should check the situation nearer the time.

It may be better to get a double entry tourist visa.

Thanks! Wow, how times have changed :) Maybe it would be best to fly to Cambodia instead. If I fly will I be able to reenter with another 15 day exemption? After I have already been there for 30 days a week prior.

The only problem I see is the first flight to Thailand. An outbound flight within 30 days can be to any country. So if you have a ticket booked to fly to Cambodia from Thailand then problem solved.

All possibility of border "difficulty" would be eliminated by having double entry tourist visas.

I think post #5 is the best way to go with a flight booked to Cambodia within 30 days

You will get another 30 day entry at an airport without a problem.

You would also get 30 days at a border crossing if you are from a G7 country.
